The Kauai Grand Canyon

Jesse was invited to go up to a cabin on Thursday so this gave us a good reason to go drive up and look at Kauai's grand canyon. Just when you think this place couldn't be any better, you take a trip up to the canyon and you see how much more amazing this place can be.
The view up this high was incredible, it looked like we were as high up as you could get. It is nothing like our grand canyon, this one is covered in green, with water falls and rivers running through it, just another perfect thing about this place.
You can only get to this part of the island if you hike in. This was is such a magical place, it is like nothing I've ever been too, (not that I've been a lot of places). It had such great history to it, I couldn't stop asking questions and listening to stories!

It was windy and cool up here and Bayleigh started to get cold so Jesse zipped her up in his sweatshirt for me. She wasn't really sure what was going on cause she was stuck facing his body, but it kept her warm and happy.

Michael took me to a higher look out point once we dropped the group off at the cabin. As we went walking up this was what I saw... You couldn't tell where the sky stopped and where the ocean started, I felt like my eyes were playing tricks on me. Down where the ocean met the island Michael said that it is almost an immediate drop down, nothing like our coast lines that slowly drop down. It was crazy to think that most of the island was actually under the ocean.

Yep! It DOES get cold up there in the mountains!
I would have used a towel as a shawl again... But
NO towel in our car this time!
Great commentary! Glad you got to see the Napali
side. NO humans living on that side, only Menehune's and hippies... Well maybe some hikers mixed in.
Bayleigh was SUCH a trooper! We did a lot with her
tagging along! Thanks for coming over!! Remember, it's only across the big pond!!! We're NOT in Kansas...
Aloha

Those pictures are amazing and yet they don't even do the actual site much justice!
